I took this photo on July 4, 2002 at Fort Ross, the old Russian settlement on the California coast. This was a type of feast day. The priest is lighting the wick on one of the old cannons belonging to the fort. I clicked my camera just as he touched the wick and got this once in a lifetime shot.
