I must say that I know russian language and Moscow the best I can, still limited, and quite far from being as a real russian!

For those who understand, at least partially, I put a text about this church I found on the Web, I have no time to translate :)
Первый деревянный храм на этом месте был выстроен в 1492 г. В 1502 г. Василий III стал княжить и, по преданию, это произошло на 14 апреля, в день Мартина, папы Римского, в честь чего и был якобы воздвигнут храм. В 1793 г. в честь посещения Москвы императором Священной Римской империи Иосифа II, по благословению митрополита Платона и на средства городского головы В.Я.Жигарева на месте ветхого храма по по проекту архитектора Р.Р.Казакова был построен новый каменный. Освящение приделов состоялось в 1800 г.: южный придел - Мартиновский, северный - Грузинской иконы Божьей Матери. Главный престол в честь Вознесения Господня освящен только в 1806 г. Храм был закрыт в 1930 г.
