 | The monastery is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains east of Fresno, CA about 50 miles. It is the monastery of the the Theotokos the Life-Giving Spring under the jurisdiction of the Metropolia of San Francisco (Greek). The abbess is Gerondissa Markella and there are 15 nuns.
