Actually, authors of the frescoes are Rallis Kopsidis and Ioannis Mitrakis not Fr. Skliris :)

I would call this art, not iconographic writing. I don't understand the 'ecumenical patriarchate' of Chambesy, is this Orthodox? 2

...thats why I prefer canonical bizantine iconography, because they are asking us not about art knowledge, mixing styles, creativity of painter, but about God, faith, humanity.

to Perovict (more to mr Skliris): Church isn't a place for questions about different styles in art. Church is a place for questions about MY PERSONAL FAITH, salvation of all mankind etc. Personal ego produce questions important only for small qroup of people - God gives us ultimate question: to be with Him or not.

Father Stamatis Skliris about his work

His work is based in Byzantine painting, especially in the 14th century Paleological School. The thesis to begin with is putting Byzantine art in dialogue with the modern art, i.e. impressionism: "My personal attitude emerges from crossing the two techniques. It expresses a postmodernist spirit of today's world. It comprises different elements from different cultural epochs. My plea to the readers is not to take these icons as final works, but more as a beginning of a research in Orthodox icon painting. It is like experimental art asking a lot of questions, offering many details. I am not obtruding any answers as every artist changes his style in time. This style may or may not suit someone in the future.
The light has the most important role, while the shadows, lines and the rest of the structure is secondary.
Behind all artistic and technical solutions stands a human face, the greatest mystery. The technique used here sees icon as a portrait of a man, who is not just a man, but a complete man and a complete god - a god and a man (Serb. This is a Christ-centered style.
