Merci, Zak!! ;) I think I just like too much to vote! :))
zakgil2006.05.15 [18:39]
oh!! Mihaela, you did not know it is strictly forbidden!!! ;^))
No, seriously, having two accounts is more for showing different category of photos, not for voting. Better choose only one for voting :)
bonne journée!

It seems that I voted twice for this photo, from the two accounts! :)
miha2006.05.14 [17:46]
Oh, I am so glad the cross was not put in a musem!! :))
ica2006.05.14 [17:41]
thank you for your correct remarks, serghei! indeed, the quality of the photo is low, serghei. all i wanted to highlight is the spirit of veneration and peace in this place.
ica2006.05.14 [17:33]
thank you all of you for your comments! also for your support Mihaela (iorga)!!! i intend to place a picture with The Righteous Waivode Saint Stephen the Great here, so this is why my comments regarding him were brief. Regarding the old stone cross from this hill, zakgil, it was moved on the shorter hill nearby.
Lekovicl2006.05.12 [23:57]
very interesting photo. You should adjust levels in my mind :))

Actually, it is obvious your opinion about the quality of the photo is right, Sergei. My first also scanned photo was like this, remember? But I think that, as you have so much experience would be more useful for such a photo to give a few advices. Like: next time maybe you enhance sharpness and a frame should be suitable. Something like this. :)

Ref. to Mihaela Nedea's (iorga's) commentary:
Yes, you're absolutely right: there're too different criteria of evaluation of the pictures. But in any case, the quality of any posted shot should be more or less acceptable. Sorry, it's my own opinion. It may well be that I'm really wrong.
Be always lucky!

The monastery has also a museum. I don't know for sure, but I suppose it is exposed there.
zakgil2006.05.12 [21:08]
original subject! I didn't know about this. And what was done with the old stone cross?
mihaela2006.05.12 [20:58]
In my opinion the reason for this is different personal criteria in evaluating a photo, as the site has a special mission.
Sergei2006.05.12 [20:52]
As to the author's and iorga's commentaries, they're very interesting and cognitive. But as to the picture itself (I mean the quality), it leaves much to be desired (to my mind). However nevertheless a lot of people suppose that it's excellent.

Saint Stephen the Great was a waivode for 47 years, and he founded more than 40 monasteries in Moldova, each one after every won battle against the islamists. He also founded a great number of churches all over present Romania and helped more monasteries from Athos. His name is engraved not only like this on this hill, but also in the hearts of Moldavians who venerate him as saint from his time until nowadays. His grave is in the church of Putna Monastery.
